What accounting software in Australia has to handle

GST is 10% on most goods and services sold or consumed in Australia. A business must register once its GST turnover reaches A$75,000 (A$150,000 for non-profits), within 21 days of knowing it will pass the threshold, and then lodges activity statements reporting total sales, GST on sales and GST credits. Employers report qualifying earnings and super liability through payroll software that supports Single Touch Payroll (STP), which sends the data to the ATO each pay day. Under the Payday Super rules that started on 1 July 2026, employers pay super guarantee when they pay wages rather than quarterly. Local prices: Xero Comprehensive is A$107 a month including GST with payroll for 5 people; MYOB Business Pro is A$70 a month after its offer period and AccountRight Plus A$165, both with STP and BAS lodgment; Zoho Books Standard is A$16.50 a month billed annually, including GST. Reckon One sells separate accounting and payroll plans with data hosted on Australian servers.
