Why it matters

Aleph raised $29 million from Khosla in 2025 by refusing to replace the spreadsheet, the opposite bet from Pigment and Anaplan. Its customer list, including Notion and Harvey, suggests the finance teams at the most-watched software companies are choosing that approach.
