Moving from Xero to QuickBooks Online
Intuit pays for up to two years of history when a business moves from Xero to QuickBooks Online, through Dataswitcher, and names Movemybooks as a second partner. VAT settings, foreign-currency revaluations and payroll records do not come across, so they are set up again or kept separately.

Ways to switch
Dataswitcher, paid for by Intuit. For a limited time Intuit covers migrations of up to two years of data from Xero. Each extra year is charged.
Movemybooks. Intuit's UK page for accountants names Movemybooks alongside Dataswitcher, with up to 12 years of history available.
Batch moves for accountants. Dataswitcher converts five or more clients in one batch free. Under five, there is a £245 plus VAT admin fee covering up to two financial years.
What moves over
Set up again by hand: VAT settings and VAT filing history do not transfer.
Currency: Data converts in the home currency only, so foreign-currency accounts need a manual revaluation.
Journals: Some Xero journals are merged, which can shift historical period reporting.
Payroll: Back up payroll records separately.
Not moved (US): Budgets, memorised transactions, invoice templates, sales orders, payroll records, projects, attachments and estimates.
