Ways to switch
Movemybooks conversion. Register with Movemybooks, sign up for Xero and authorise Movemybooks to connect to it. Up to 24 months of Sage data convert free, and a conversion usually takes two to three hours.
Xero's managed migration. Xero moves opening balances or transaction data from Sage, QuickBooks, KashFlow and FreeAgent. For accountants moving several clients it is free, with one point of contact.
Paid conversion service. MMC Convert converts several years of transaction history from Sage 50, Sage One, KashFlow, QuickBooks and other packages into Xero.
Opening balances only. Import a trial balance into Xero and keep the Sage records for older years. As long as the closing balances are known, the time of year does not matter.
