What is InvoiceNow in Singapore?

Definition

InvoiceNow is Singapore's national e-invoicing network, built on Peppol. Under the GST InvoiceNow requirement, GST-registered businesses must use InvoiceNow-ready software to send invoice data to the tax authority, IRAS. The requirement started on 1 November 2025 for newly incorporated companies registering for GST voluntarily and extends to every GST-registered business in phases up to April 2031.

How InvoiceNow works

Businesses connect to InvoiceNow through an accredited Peppol access point, usually built into their accounting software, and exchange invoices with other businesses on the network. For GST purposes, invoice data is transmitted to IRAS either as part of a Peppol invoice to a buyer or as a separate submission for invoices not sent over Peppol. The phases are: from 1 November 2025, newly incorporated companies that register for GST voluntarily; from 1 April 2026, all new voluntary registrants; from 1 April 2028, new compulsory registrants and existing businesses with annual supplies up to S$200,000; then up to S$1 million in 2029, up to S$4 million in 2030 and the rest on 1 April 2031. Xero is InvoiceNow-ready in Singapore, and Fonoa supports Singapore's requirements for international groups.

Is InvoiceNow the same as Peppol?+

InvoiceNow is Singapore's name for its national network based on the Peppol standard, so a business on InvoiceNow can exchange e-invoices with Peppol users in other countries.

What is InvoiceNow-ready software?+

Accounting or invoicing software that can send and receive invoices over the network and transmit invoice data to IRAS. Many cloud ledgers include it through a built-in access point.
