How to choose revenue recognition software
- Which standards and contract types do you need to cover?RightRev and Trullion cover ASC 606 and IFRS 15, and RightRev adds lessor accounting under ASC 842 and IFRS 16. RightRev handles usage, subscription and multi-element contracts, and Tabs usage-based and hybrid billing.
- Do you want revenue recognition as a separate tool or inside the general ledger?Campfire and Rillet include revenue recognition in their general ledger, and Numeric sells it on an existing ERP or as part of a full ERP replacement. RightRev and Trullion are separate tools that send journal entries to the ERP, and Tabs ties revenue recognition to billing and collections.
- Where do your contracts and billing data live?RightRev runs as a Salesforce-native app or a standalone application. Trullion takes revenue data from CRM, billing and ERP systems, and Tabs starts from the contract itself.
